Situational Nudist

This morning I read My Naked Journey on the Tantrachick blog. While talking about a nude photo session she’d done, Joy (the author) described herself as a “situational nudist.” She defined it as when it feels comfortable and safe to be naked in a setting that makes sense.. I like it.

  1. I’m at the point where I don’t like terms like nudist or naturist that much. There are as confining as the clothes you don’t want to wear. I just like being naked anytime and anywhere it is accepted and the climate allows. If I am the only naked person in a crowd, or everyone is naked, I don’t care. I don’t care if the NBC news helicopter zooms in on me for the nightly news. I don’t care if I’m the only person for miles. I don’t care if people are focusing on me for the novelty or lust or whatever or ignoring me for being old news. As long as the reaction isn’t hostile, I’m cool. I want nudity to be just another fashion choice.

What is the term for that?

  2. I don’t know but I call it being free. Even if you came up a term for it, it would probably end up becoming just another restrictive label. Why name it? Just enjoy your natural state when and where you can.
